The Antro del Corchia , with its approximately 53 km of tunnels and wells , holds the national record for the largest underground karst complex.

Even the difference in altitude, with its 1187 m of height between the highest opening and the bottom of the cave, represents one of the highest values traceable in the Italian and European territory.

The peculiarity of the Corchia karst system lies above all in its extreme morphological and evolutionary complexity.

It is in fact a three-dimensional network enclosed in a volume of marble and dolomite approximately 2 km long, 1 km wide and almost 1200 m high.

An equipped path, about 1 km long, allows tourists to penetrate the interior of Corchia and reach the heart of the mountain and the karst system.

The Grotta del Vento is located in northern Tuscany, in Garfagnana, in the center of the Apuan Alps Park, in an area rich in spectacular and interesting karst phenomena.
