Candalla waterfalls secret and enchanted place in Tuscany

At the foot of the mountains surrounding Camaiore (Lucca), about 20 km from the Hotel Tahiti in Viareggio, there is an enchanted place: the valley of the Candalla stream.
Fresh air rises from the stream and the dense forest all around almost blocks the view of the sky.

A dense and lush vegetation that seems almost tropical, surrounds a series of natural pools where it is possible to bathe and swim. A small waterfall flows into a deep pool and a bridge crosses the stream: it doesn't seem real, it is so beautiful that it seems a film set .

The pool is perfect for taking two dives of 2.4 and 6 meters and even if the water is freezing, diving is very satisfying.
A secret place is unmissable.

How to get to Candalla

From Florence take the A11 motorway towards Lucca. Continue towards Viareggio. As soon as you exit the motorway, follow the signs for Camaiore.

From CamaioreAn itinerary between nature and industrial archaeology, continue towards Casoli-Lombrici and at Lombrici take the road to Candalla. Park at the Mulino di Candalla; cross the little bridge over the Rio Lombricese and go up the Candalla path.
